World's Most Magnificently Colored Birds
Birds are among the most diverse and most colorful animals in the world. Here’s a list of some of the prettiest and most brilliantly-colored birds in the world.
1.) Greater Bird-of-Paradise (Paradisaea apoda)
The Greater Bird-of-Paradise will not be named bird-of-paradise if it doesn’t look pretty at all. It is one of the most beautiful and most magnificently-colored among all other birds in the world. This lovely bird with long twin tail wires inhabits lowland and hill forest of New Guinea and Aru Islands of Indonesia. It is the largest bird-of-paradise and if feeds on fruits, seeds and insects.
2.) White-bellied Green-pigeon (Treron sieboldii)
You might not believe it but the beautiful and colorful White-bellied Green-Pigeon is actually a pigeon because the most common pigeon species that we see everyday are not as brightly colored as the White-bellied Green Pigeon. This bird species inhabits temperate forests of China, Japan, South Korea, Russia and other Asian countries.
3.) Raggiana’s Bird-of-Paradise (Paradisaea raggiana)
Another very beautiful and very colorful bird-of-paradise is the Raggiana Bird-of-Paradise. This large bird with elegant tail is the national bird of Papua New Guinea where it is endemic and is locally known as Kumul and Cenderawasih. It is also the country’s national emblem and was also included on the national flag. This amazingly beautiful bird is also known as Count Raggi's Bird-of-Paradise.
4.) White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis)
The White-throated Kingfisher is lovely-looking bird that can be found in the Philippines and other Asian countries. It is also widely distributed in Europe. This large kingfisher that grows up to 28 cm in length is also known as the White-breasted Kingfisher or Smyrna Kingfisher.

Toucans are among the most awesome-looking and most colorful birds in the world. One of the most beautiful and adorable toucans is the Chestnut-mandibled Toucan of Central and South America. It is brightly marked and has a large bill like all other toucans. It can grow up to 52 cm in length or more. It is also known as Swainson’s Toucan.

The Eastern Rosella is a very pretty and colorful parrot native to Australia. It has been introduced to New Zealand and is very popular as pet bird in Pakistan. It can grow up to 30 cm in length and like many parrots; the male is brighter in coloration than the female.

The Golden-Headed Quetzal is one of the most popular birds of South America. This colorful bird that inhabits highland forests can grow up to 35 cm in length. Male species are iridescent green with a golden cast to their heads, black wings, bright red bellies, and a yellow bill while the female species are duller with a greyer head. It feeds mostly on fruits, insects and occasionally on small lizards.

The Crimson Rosella is an elegant-looking parrot with bright red, blue and black coloration. It is endemic to Australia and inhabits mountain forests and gardens. It has been introduced to New Zealand and Norfolk Island. It can attain a length of 36 cm or more.
